Mbps Calculator
Convert network speed between bit- and byte-based rates
Internet plans are usually advertised in Mbps (megabits per second), but file sizes and download managers show MB/s (megabytes per second). Since 1 byte = 8 bits, divide Mbps by 8 to get MB/s — a "100 Mbps" connection downloads at roughly 12.5 MB/s, not 100 MB/s.
This tool converts between bit-based rates (bps, Kbps, Mbps, Gbps, Tbps) and byte-based rates (B/s, KB/s, MB/s, GB/s) using decimal (1000-based) prefixes, the convention used by ISPs.
