Assigning random numbers fairly to a group of people, for a raffle, a game order, a lucky draw, or picking teams, is exactly the kind of task that’s easy to mess up by hand, either by accidentally repeating a number or by not-quite-random shuffling. This auto number generator handles it properly: add your players, set a range, and generate a unique random number for each one, with sound effects, a results board, and a live leaderboard.
This tool is built specifically for assigning random numbers to a named group of people, not for generating an abstract list of random numbers on their own. You build a player list first, then the generator draws from your configured range and assigns each result to a specific player, tracking who has already received a number and who’s still pending, with sound and confetti feedback to make each draw feel like an actual event moment rather than a silent calculation.
With “No duplicate numbers” enabled, the generator removes each number from the available pool as it’s assigned, guaranteeing no two players end up with the same result. If your Lower Limit and Upper Limit define a range smaller than your number of remaining players, the calculator flags this directly, warning you that some players may not get a number this round, rather than silently failing or assigning duplicates anyway. Widening the range or reducing the number of pending players resolves this before you generate.
| Mode | What happens when you click Generate | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Manual (one by one) | Draws one number for the next pending player in the queue | A live event where you want to reveal each number one at a time, building suspense for each participant |
| Auto (all at once) | Draws numbers for every remaining pending player simultaneously | Quickly assigning numbers to an entire group without a live reveal for each person |
The Results Board shows every player alongside their assigned number, updating live as each draw happens. The History panel keeps a running log of the draw order, useful for confirming exactly when and in what sequence each number was assigned. The Leaderboard presents the same results in a ranked view, useful when the drawn numbers themselves represent something ordinal, like draft order, prize tiers, or turn sequence, rather than just arbitrary labels.
This kind of tool fits situations where you need to fairly and transparently assign a random number to each of several people: raffle or door-prize number assignment, deciding turn order for a game night, randomly assigning teams or groups by number, running a classroom or workplace lucky draw, or picking a fair random order for any multi-person activity where nobody should be able to argue the assignment was rigged.
Numbers are generated using standard browser-based randomization, suitable for casual games, raffles, and everyday fair-assignment use. For anything requiring cryptographically secure randomness, such as a regulated lottery or a security-sensitive application, use a purpose-built random number generation system designed and certified for that specific requirement.
The calculator warns you directly that the range only has enough numbers for some of your remaining players, rather than silently assigning duplicates or failing. Widen your Lower/Upper Limit range or reduce your player count to resolve this before generating.
Manual mode draws one number for the next player in the queue each time you click Generate, useful for a live, one-at-a-time reveal. Auto mode draws numbers for every remaining player at once, useful when you just need results quickly without a live reveal moment for each person.
Only if you turn off “No duplicate numbers.” With that toggle enabled (the default), each assigned number is removed from the available pool, guaranteeing every player receives a unique result.
It’s built for casual, everyday fair-assignment use, raffles, games, classroom draws, and similar situations. For a regulated lottery or any legally significant random drawing, use a certified random number generation system designed specifically for that regulatory requirement.
