In Hand Salary Calculator

In-Hand Salary Calculator

Complete take-home salary calculator with customizable Additions (bonuses, allowances, overtime) and Deductions (tax, insurance, retirement) builders — works for any country or currency since every component is user-defined, not a hardcoded tax bracket

Gross --
+ Additions --
− Deductions --
Net In-Hand --

Base Pay

Annual: --  |  Monthly: --

Currency

All amounts are shown using the selected currency symbol for display only — no exchange-rate conversion is performed.

Order of operations: Additions are calculated first (against Gross or the growing additions balance, per each row's own base), then Deductions are calculated against that resulting balance (or against original Gross, per each row's own base choice).

Additions Builder

Bonuses, allowances, overtime, reimbursements — each row adds to the running balance. Order matters for rows using "Running balance" as the base.

Addition Name Type Value Base (% only) Computed

Deductions Builder

Taxes, insurance, retirement contributions — each row subtracts from the running balance (capped so a single row can't push it negative). Order matters for "Remaining balance" rows.

Deduction Name Type Value Base (% only) Computed

Compare Two Scenarios

Build two independent scenarios (e.g. two job offers, or with/without a bonus) and compare Net In-Hand side by side. Each scenario has its own gross pay, additions and deductions.

This tool performs generic arithmetic on additions and deductions you define yourself — it does not include any built-in tax brackets, social security rates, or country-specific rules, and is not tax or payroll advice. Verify all rates and rules with your employer, payroll provider, or local tax authority. — calculator24x7.com

An in-hand salary calculator helps you see what actually lands in your bank account after every addition and deduction is applied to your pay, instead of just looking at the headline number on an offer letter. This in-hand salary calculator on Calculator24x7 works by letting you enter your base pay, build your own list of additions such as bonuses or allowances, and build your own list of deductions such as tax or insurance, so it can be used with any salary structure and any currency rather than a fixed, country-specific formula.

How to use this in-hand salary calculator

  1. Enter your pay amount in the “Base Pay” field.
  2. Use the “This amount is” toggle to tell the calculator whether the figure you entered is your “Annual CTC” or “Monthly” pay. The calculator shows both the Annual and Monthly figures once you set this.
  3. Pick your currency from the “Currency” dropdown, which defaults to USD.
  4. Open the Additions builder and add a row for each addition, such as a bonus, allowance, or overtime payment. For each row, fill in the “Addition Name,” choose a “Type,” enter a “Value,” and set the “Base (% only)” if the addition is a percentage of another figure. Use “+ Add Addition” to add more rows.
  5. Open the Deductions builder and repeat the same steps for each deduction, such as tax, insurance, or retirement contributions, filling in “Deduction Name,” “Type,” “Value,” and “Base (% only)” for each row.
  6. Click “Calculate Full Report” to generate your results.
  7. Review the “Gross (entered period),” “Total additions,” “Total deductions,” and “Net in-hand” figures, along with the Additions Breakdown and Deductions Breakdown tables.
  8. Optionally, use “Save as Template” to store this setup for reuse, or “Compare Scenarios” to build a second Scenario B and see the two results side by side.
  9. Use “Export PDF,” “Export PNG,” or “Print Payslip” to keep a copy of the result.

What this in-hand salary calculator does

Instead of applying a hardcoded tax bracket or a fixed set of deduction rules, this in-hand salary calculator lets you define every addition and deduction yourself. You start with a base pay figure, marked as either your Annual CTC or your Monthly pay, and then build two lists: one for additions (money added to your gross pay) and one for deductions (money subtracted from it). Because every line item is something you type in, the same calculator works whether you are estimating a CTC breakdown, a monthly paycheck, or a salary structure from a different country, since none of the components are tied to a specific tax system.

How the calculation works

Each row in the Additions and Deductions builders has its own “Type” and “Base (% only)” setting, so a row can be a flat amount or a percentage of a chosen base, such as the gross pay or the running balance. The calculator applies additions first, working out each one against the gross pay or the growing additions balance depending on that row’s own base setting. Deductions are then applied to the resulting balance, or against the original gross pay, again depending on the base chosen for that row.

Net In-Hand Pay = Gross Pay + Total Additions − Total Deductions

The output section reports these three figures separately, “Total additions,” “Total deductions,” and “Net in-hand,” so you can see exactly how much each addition or deduction changed your final number rather than only seeing the end result.

Output and breakdown tables

Once you click “Calculate Full Report,” the page produces the following breakdown:

Section Columns shown
Additions Breakdown Addition, Type/Base, Amount, Balance After
Deductions Breakdown Deduction, Type/Base, Amount, Balance After
Annual / Monthly Conversion Converts the result between annual and monthly figures

There is also a “Net vs. Additions vs. Deductions” pie chart, and a payslip view with “Earnings,” “Deductions,” “Gross Pay,” “Total Additions,” “Total Deductions,” and “Net In-Hand Pay” lines that you can print directly.

Comparing two salary scenarios

The Comparison section lets you set up Scenario A and Scenario B, each with its own base pay amount, “This amount is” toggle, and its own additions and deductions builders. Clicking “Compare Scenarios” runs both calculations at once, which is useful for comparing two job offers or checking how a change in one deduction affects your net in-hand figure.

A note on accuracy

This in-hand salary calculator performs the arithmetic on whatever additions and deductions you enter. It does not come with built-in tax brackets, social security rates, or country-specific payroll rules, and the result is not tax or payroll advice. Check the exact rates and rules that apply to you with your employer, payroll provider, or local tax authority before relying on the figure for financial decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Does this in-hand salary calculator include tax brackets automatically?

No. It does not apply any built-in tax bracket or fixed deduction rate. You enter your own tax, insurance, or other deduction amounts as rows in the Deductions builder, and the calculator subtracts them from your gross pay to reach the net in-hand figure.

Can I use this calculator for a monthly salary instead of an annual CTC figure?

Yes. The “This amount is” toggle lets you mark your entered Base Pay as either “Annual CTC” or “Monthly,” and the calculator displays both the annual and monthly versions of the result once you choose.

How does the order of additions and deductions affect the final number?

Additions are calculated first, against the gross pay or the running additions balance depending on each row’s base setting. Deductions are calculated after that, against either the resulting balance or the original gross pay, depending on the base chosen for each deduction row. This order can change the final net in-hand figure when percentage-based rows are involved.

Can I compare two different salary offers with this tool?

Yes. The Comparison section provides a separate Scenario A and Scenario B, each with its own base pay, toggle, and additions and deductions builders. Clicking “Compare Scenarios” calculates both at once so you can view the net in-hand results side by side.
