Take-Home Pay By Frequency ?Your annual take-home pay converted into other common pay frequencies for comparison. "Daily" assumes a 5-day, 260-workday year.

Estimate only, not tax or payroll advice.

This paycheck calculator breaks down exactly where your paycheck goes — gross earnings, federal taxes, state or territory taxes, and benefit deductions — to show your real take-home pay. It supports a dedicated US Tax Mode or a Custom mode for other countries.

How to use this paycheck calculator

  1. Choose US Tax Mode or Custom / Other Country mode.
  2. Enter your pay frequency and earnings details in the Earnings tab.
  3. Fill in the Federal Taxes and State/Territory Taxes tabs (or the equivalent custom tax fields).
  4. Add any benefit deductions in the Benefits tab to see your final take-home pay update live.

How take-home pay is calculated

Take-Home Pay = Gross Pay − Taxes − Benefit Deductions

Gross pay is calculated from your pay frequency and earnings inputs, then federal tax, state/territory tax (or your custom tax equivalent), and any pre- or post-tax benefit deductions are subtracted in sequence to arrive at your net take-home amount for the pay period.

US Tax Mode vs. Custom mode

US Tax Mode applies federal and state-specific tax rules and brackets automatically. Custom mode instead lets you enter your own tax rates or amounts directly, which makes the calculator usable for any country’s payroll system by supplying the applicable tax figures manually rather than relying on built-in US-specific tax tables.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this calculator outside the US?

Yes — switch to Custom / Other Country mode, which replaces the US-specific federal and state tax tabs with generic tax fields you fill in yourself, so the underlying earnings-minus-taxes-minus-benefits math still applies.

Does pay frequency affect the tax calculation?

Yes — how often you’re paid (weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc.) affects how annual figures are prorated per paycheck, so entering the correct frequency keeps the per-paycheck tax and take-home figures accurate.

What counts as a “benefit deduction”?

Things like health insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and other payroll deductions that come out of your paycheck alongside taxes. Enter them in the Benefits tab so they’re subtracted before your final take-home figure is shown.
